Going Nowhere
Going Nowhere is an augmented-reality photography exhibition that gives a voice to the Burning Man community. Each photograph is linked to one of the event's ten principles, including decommodification, immediacy and self-reliance. Point a phone or tablet at an image and a member of the community shares a personal anecdote connected to that principle.
The project grew from attending a Burning Man gathering and recording interviews with members of the community. Photography becomes a point of entry into their first-person stories, while sound, 3D objects and augmented reality extend each image into an encounter.
Roles and production
Eva Barbara created the photographs. I handled sound recording, 3D object creation, Unity application development, editing, translations into all project languages, and publication through the social channels and app stores for iOS and Android.
