A hands-on badge-making project turning personal photographs and discarded print media into small wearable images, sold at social events to support associations in need.

Pinsterest

Pinsterest turned images people already loved—or materials that might otherwise be thrown away—into small objects to wear and share. The project invited people to send in a favourite photograph from their Instagram account. Each image was printed and transformed into a personalised badge. Old magazines and newspapers supplied a second stream of images, giving discarded print a new life in unexpected combinations.

The badges were made by hand using cutting, occasional drawing or marker work, and a badge-making press. They were then sold at social events, with the proceeds going to associations that needed support.

Role

Initiated and ran the project independently: collecting and selecting images, making the badges, and selling them at events.
